Horizn Studios is a top startup founded in 2015 that specializes in the development of innovative luggage. The modified cases offer a number of features: Power banks are integrated into the products, there are special pockets for notebooks and smartphones and some of them are equipped with GPS modules. And these are just a few of the features of modernized suitcases. In the first year, the successful founders of Horizn Studios sold more than 10,000 copies and were initially unable to keep up with production. Because of numerous investors the founders from Germany were able to secure 10 million euros in investment capital. According to the company, the innovative start-up has now reached eight-figure sales - and these continue to grow at this German start-up of start-up founders.


HOLIDU


Founded in 2014, startup Holiday is on a mission to make finding and booking vacation rentals easier. With a search engine for holiday homes and apartments, the founders want to enable holidaymakers to find the ideal accommodation at the lowest price. At the same time, it should also be easier for providers. With the software and service solution Bookiply, the company also helps holiday home landlords to get more bookings with less effort. In 2019, the startup of the successful founders was able to complete a Series C financing round of 40 million euros through well-known investors. A year later, the Series C was then expanded by five million euros. But despite the corona pandemic, the startup is on a growth course.

KUMOVIS


The startup Kumovis develops and sells 3D printing ecosystems that are tailored to the requirements of regulated markets, especially medical technology. This allows surgical instruments, for example, but also skull plates or spinal implants to be adapted to the individual needs of the patient. The founding team of Kumovis consists of Dr. Miriam Haerst, Alexander Henhammer, Stefan Fischer, Stefan Leonhardt and Sebastian Pammer, who met and did research at the Chair of Medical Technology at TUM. The founders from Germany therefore come from the fields of industrial engineering, electrical engineering and information technology as well as medical technology, which shows the strength of the top startup market and the first machines have already been put into operation by customers.

The Berlin startup Seven Senders was founded in 2015. This connects dealers with premium parcel delivery services worldwide and enables customers to have faster and cheaper delivery. By June 2019, 16 million euros had flowed into the German startup Seven Senders. TOURLANE


Tourlane is an online travel agency for individual travel and was founded in 2016. With this idea, the founders Julian Weselek and Julian Stiefel from Germany have already convinced the US investor Sequoia and an AirBnB founder. The two successful founders from Berlin put together individual long-distance trips for their customers, including all flights, accommodation, transfers and local activities. Within 18 months, the startup founders were able to collect 81 million dollars from investors with their business idea. The innovative startup now has over 80 permanent employees who know their way around the world and is therefore one of the most successful German startups.

MEDWING


The startup Medwing is a job platform for professionals in the healthcare industry. In times of a shortage of skilled workers, the Medwing platform and thus the innovative start-up enable better networking between employers and employees. In this way, the nursing staff in particular should feel through the German start-up how popular they are on the job market and how valuable their job is. Around 100,000 nurses are now registered with the top startup Medwing, but the founders from Germany want to double this number in the next few years.

TIME GOLD


Zeitgold is also one of the most successful startups in Germany, even if there were problems in 2020. The young company is one of the most successful  FinTech startups in Berlin. The innovative startup wants to digitize the preparatory accounting of small companies. The top startup Zeitgold offers its customers a complete digital solution for their accounting. The company has been around since 2015 and was founded by Dr. Jan Deepen, Stefan Jeschonnek and Kobi Eldar. Investors in the startup founders also included Holtzbrinck Ventures, Battery Ventures, Axa and Deutsche Bank.


Although Zeitgold 2020 repeatedly appeared in the startup news because the new direction caused financial difficulties, everything ultimately took a good turn for Zeitgold as one of the most successful startups in Germany. Because in August 2021 it became known that the US company Deel would soon take over Zeitgold. And the buyer Deel takes care of the payroll accounting for companies and start-ups that operate internationally. Deel had only collected around 150 million dollars in the spring, the company value of the start-up founders rose to 1.25 billion US dollars.

COMTRAVO


The innovative startup Comtravo is a platform for business travel bookings and is one of many successful travel startups in Berlin . The company's software converts text queries, such as e-mails, into structured data using natural language processing (NLP). It also uses AI technologies to offer the best travel options based on previously specified preferences and previous booking behavior. Comtravo was founded in 2015 by Michael Riegel, Jannik Wässa and Marko Schilde, as well as an experienced team from the travel and internet industry. More than 900 companies now use Comtravo and the founders from Germany employ over 110 people.

PERSONIO


The Munich startup Personio from 2015, as a holistic HR software, offers great support in personnel management for small and medium-sized companies. The program, with which employees are recruited and managed, should enable transparency, organization and also measurability in the process for personnel. In its last round of financing, the top startup Personio was able to collect around 75 million US dollars, which means that the investment volume is now 130 million US dollars. NYRIS


At Nyris, much of the company revolves around artificial intelligence. Anna Lukasson-Herzig and her brother Markus Lukasson founded the company in 2015. The Düsseldorf startup now has over 15 employees and offices in Berlin and Düsseldorf. The AI-based Nyris software analyzes the smartphone camera image in terms of colors, shapes and digital data, which then works like a digital fingerprint. This means that various objects are recognized at this top startup and the user then receives the appropriate data. With this technology, the company is one of the most successful startups in Germany.


Nyris can now count Daimler, Metro and Lufthansa among its largest customers. The founders from Germany have not only won the Rhineland Pitch in recent years, but have also collected several million euros from sponsors. Google and Microsoft are now also supporting the innovative company, which is rightly one of the most successful startups in Germany. In November 2020, the Swedish furniture group IKEA even got involved and acquired a majority stake. How much money Ikea invested is not known.

CLUNO


The innovative startup Cluno is also one of the most successful startups in Germany, but also one of the startups with the largest outside capital. Because since it was founded in 2017, the young company has been able to collect 140 million euros. The mobility startup offers subscriptions to various models from car manufacturers via a website and an app, allowing customers to change car models as they wish after just a few months. 

The company of startup founders wants to create an alternative to buying and leasing a car within the startup industries. With the capital of the investors, the top startup Cluno wants to further expand its car fleet.

MOTIONMINERS


In 2017, Sascha Feldhorst, Sascha Kaczmarek and René Grzeszick founded the company MotionMiners in Dortmund. This is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics. The company uses mobile sensors and small radio transmitters to record employee movements . Because the results of this technology from the successful founders measure the physical strain on employees, so that the strain is reduced and process times in companies are shortened.
